Cambios en la representación política: la cámara de diputados en México, 1988 y 1997
Abstract
This paper is a comparative study among two of the most polemic and conflictive legislatures in modern Mexico, when in 1988 and 1997 the deputies chamber reached a balance among the official party and the opposition. The aim is to analyze the profile of every legislature, from age perspective, the legislative experience, the access to Congress, as well as the regional origin of each representative. Using hemerographic and documentary sources, a database on deputies of main political parties was constructed. This shows some changes that have modified the role and functions of one of the main political institutions in Mexico.
