Abstract

In this text Luhmann starts off by looking at the tradicional analyses of the ecological problem and points out possible errors in these conceptions. He then proposes, in accordance with his Theory of Systems, a new way of approaching the problem. In an erudite article, the German writer puts forth theoretical concepts with which the ecological problem can be studied and which make it possible to "calculate in a controlled manner" movements in the practice in this terrain.
