Intermediarios políticos y poder local en Michoacán (1929-1940): el caso del municipio de taretan.
Abstract
This essay analyzes the way in which the people in the county of Taretan, Michoacan, lived during the process of reconstruction in the postrevolutionary State, between 1920 and 1940. In order to achieve this, the essay explores the birth and development of the agrarian movement in the region, through two main points: the fight for the land against the haciendas and the dispute for the control of the county president. In addition, the role that political intermediaries played is pointed out. In the opinion of the author, the roles are strategically situated to induce power. When one follows the analysis it is possible to observe what happens on different levels of political power (regional, national or at a state level) and the way that society and state entertwine for the resolution of public problems.
