Abstract
This article analyzes the process by means of which Church and State dispute the hegemony on the masses between(among) 1920 and 1940. It(he,she) postulates that it was a question of two projects of social order found that they polarized the Mexican society in diverse fields (religious, educational, social). Behind these disputes it is possible to locate a " crisis of participation of the masses " in the public sand and a crisis of secularization. The first crisis marks the birth of the State posrevolucionario Mexican and is solved by the process of packing of the masses during the sexenio cardenista (1934-1940) and the conformation of a modus vivendi but not this way the crisis of secularization
