COVID-19 lockdown is having several effects on the well-being of diverse populations across the world. Through an observational, exploratory and comparative study, this article analysed changes reported by undergraduate students in food consumption habits before and during COVID-19 lockdown in Mexico City. The aim was to approach the potential effects of modifications in food habits due to lockdown on participants’ susceptibility of contagion and complications of COVID-19. While no significant changes regarding nutritional quality were found, a diet with pro-inflammatory profile was identified as predominant before and during lockdown, which has been associated with a higher probability of getting the virus and developing complications.
