Posmodernidad y ciencias sociales

Abstract

This essay attempts, firstly, to define the concept of postmodernity in terms both of its aesthetic and cultural connotations, as well as its social and political aspects in the contemporary world. In the second part of the article, the implications of the theory of postmodernity are analysed with respect to some of the theoretical schools of thought of modern social science and, finally, an attempt is made to arrive at a minimum evaluation of its critical implications and significance.
