Marc Bloch, Lucien Febvre y L'apologie Pour l'histoire.

Abstract

We are informed through this research regarding the method used by Marc Bloch in writing the Apologie pour l'histoire ou Métier d'historien. It is known that Bloch was not able to have at his disposal sufficient bibliography due to the fact that the bulk of his books were at his Sevres street apartment; nevertheless, the indications and dates he left are sufficient for Mastrogregori, who can then state precisely, for example, that he began writing the Apologie in 1940, and not the following year. The role played by Lucien Febvre, in this case as editor, seems deficient and hasty.
