El número de partidos y la competitividad electoral en Tlaxcala.
Notas para un análisis diacrónico y geográfico.
Abstract
This article presents an analysis of the election returns in the State of Tlaxcala based on an index that summarizes them, the NP (number of parties). The number of parties has been a fundamental criterion for the classification of the party systems; in the Mexican case, the increase in this number indicates a parallel growth in electoral competitivity. The main objective of this analysis are the changes in competitivity during the period in question (1974-1995), centered on the local representatives' elections and the composition of the State congress .
