Abstract

The actual interest between language and significance has led to interdependency between life and language, experience and metaphor. The author examines the reaction of feminist studies and cultural studies, but does not avoid the most important element of all: politics. The article also analyses the intersection between feminism and postestructuralism/ postmodernism and it focuses the discussion (in the United States) on political-epistemological controversy between cultural feminist materialism and historic or marxist materialism.
