Seymur M. Lipset y los requisitos de una democracia estable
Abstract
Seymur M. Upset has devoted a large part of his work to the study of the international repercussions of the different democratic life and political order breaking experiences, espe¬cially in Europe, from the first half of the Twentieth Century to date. This article identifies and analyses four fundamental aspects that, throughout his work, Upset considers necessary to arrive to a stable democratic system: 1) State consolidation, 2) an adequate economic devel¬opment level, 3) a balanced social structure, and 4) an adequate and functional political system.
