¿ Retornará "lo social"?

Abstract

This article sets out the foundations, origin, and development of social policies in the European context and their Latin American version in the aftermath of WW2. It begins with a reflection that seeks to define a social policy agenda in response to a triple challenge: its reinstatement as a po¬licy in the public arena; the establishment of a set of moral values that support it as a project for the construction of an autonomous society; and tackling the problem of social inequality as the main challenge for the proper grounding of democracy.
