Abstract

This article is about the major economic groups corporations’ strategies in Mexico in the food industry implemented between 1990 and 2005. It emphasizes in the case of Grupo Industrial Maseca, an organization that has grown and has reached about foreign markets not only in Latin America but even in the USA, Europe, Asia and Oceania. The main strategies has been the arrival of new geographical market and established alliance with Archer Daniels Midland Company one of the largest agribusiness companies in the world. Its growth has had no positive impact on producers of maize, its main input. Key words: Large companies, strategies, food industry.
