Abstract

The central idea of this paper is to find the characteristics that allow us to know, to differentiate and examine the singularities of the transformation of the Public Plaza Mexicana. This from the exploration of the features of the public square as such in different cultures where they originated this kind of space. It makes a contrast of forms of thought which conceived with objectives and specific functions, which is why we pay attention to theoretical tensions generated modernity and postmodernity as distinct ways of thinking, make a brief state of the political over how they conceived the concept of public space while making a historical overview on the role of the Public Square across cultures, as it means to interpret their view of reality and its manifestations in accordance with their own cultural criteria.
