From identifying trends for the production of interdisciplinary knowledge in the face of the contemporary environmental crisis, the conceptualization of environmental design and interdisciplinary research was discussed, particularly from the viewpoint of complex systems. Here, it is presented a number of considerations on the challenges facing interdisciplinary research in environmental design under institutional frameworks in Mexico, particularly from the point of view of a interdisciplinary team working in the subject of habitability and environment.
