This collaboration aims to analyze the behavior of social property, measured by the Ejido censuses raised from 1930 to 2007. The study emphasizes the historical importance of census records and shows the persistence of social property, to a little more than twenty years of issued legislation allowing to choose the private domain, continues regulating around the middle of the national surface. It also alludes to the agrarian law reform initiatives presented from late 2012 proposed to eradicate the limitations still presenting the legislation to the private domain of Ejido and communal lands. The text concludes that front the strong persistence of social property registered in the censuses, predominates a policy that ignore the historical reasons of this continuity and it does not solve the complexity involved in the social property.
