Historia nutricional poblacional:
Teoría, método e interdisciplina
Abstract
This article proposes a method to reconstruct the evolution of the nutritional condition of social groups whose health history is unknown due to the absence of clinical and epidemiological data. This method produces a series of annual indexes of malnutrition for a given population sector. Index variations are associated with changes in food availability for the studied groups. Face to the lack of health empirical data to verify the reconstructed nutritional history, this method demands a particular way of validation, which the article exemplifies and analyzes.
