This work examines whether the strong impulse given by the argentine public sector (national and some sub-nationals) to technologies that come to address issues that are on public agendas, hinders or promotes compliance with the mitigation commitments assumed in the Paris Agreement. A comparative study of three cases is carried out: the thermo-valuation of house waste in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, the fracking in Mendoza and the use of agrochemicals in Santa Fe.
The results suggest that the technologies promoted by governments are not optimal to respond to mitigation commitments, but are adopted alluding to pressing "needs", which, in certain cases, is strengthened by a path dependence.
