¿Puede la regulación financiera fomentar el crecimiento económico?

Mediante un modelo de crecimiento endógeno estocástico, con agentes heterogéneos, tecnología dada y de economía cerrada, se identifican los efectos que tiene el sistema financiero sobre la tasa de crecimiento de una economía. En principio, se estudia el impacto de un sistema financiero eficiente, para posteriormente analizar un de tipo ineficiente. Se encuentra que la ineficiencia financiera genera impactos negativos en el crecimiento, y para corregirlos se introduce la regulación financiera vía un impuesto al rendimiento del capital. Asimismo se determinan las condiciones necesarias para crecer bajo este escenario.
