Neocorporativismo y democracia en México
Abstract
This article addresses the way in which the logic of the citizenry has been taking over from corporatist logic in Mexico. It is divided into four sections. The first describes corporatism as a multidimensional concept that has nevertheless not emerged as a paradigm. The second section explains tMe concept of citizenry as the guiding principle of democracy. The third explains how corporatism was constructed in Mexico and offers a brief overview of its historical development and a series of reflections about civil society and its role in political change. It also identifies the aspects of corporatism that have redefined their functioning during the transition. Finally, some thoughts are shared about the coexistence of the corporatist logic and the logic of the citizenry in the country's transition toward democracy.
