Abstract

This article commemorates the hundred years of existence of the American Political Science Association (APSA), which was founded in the early 20th century. Since then it has played a central role in the professionalization of the discipline in the United States.The commemoration also allows an overview of the development of political science in that country, which had an enormous influence in many parts of the world during the 20th century.
