Abstract

The Marxist theory of the dependency constitutes the best intellectual effort in decades of development of the Latin American social sciences. After the deepening of the dependency, an the underdevelopment in the last decades under the ideology of the “free trade”, which was boosted by the international bank stock and the metropolitan states, the traditional theories of development come back strongly once again in Latin America. Besides their historical incapacity to take our people from a system that the majorities are necessarily condemned to exploitation and to violence, the recent crisis in Brazil reveals that the “neodesarrollismo” quickly exhausted their capacity of hegemonizing the intellectual debate and it’s nothing more than an old way to perpetuate the “development of the underdevelopment”.
