La mítica Comala, en el cruce de caminos hacia el inframundo
Keywords:
Comala, city, underworld, land, womanAbstract
Comala is an identifying topos, located by the fiction genre within the context of a universal peasant world, being representative of any Latin-American nation. On its rural precariousness, it constitutes a densely populated city, enriched by mostly feminine characters showing deep human feelings capable of eternal lasting in the afterworld. Time goes by in an intricate and zigzagging manner, and space remains and fades away, witnessing the protagonist’s eternal search for the father, while rebuilding the mother’s painful past. Ungraspable mutters, at frightening times, reassure the plausibility of the precise moment when life and death converge. While going down, the protagonist foresees the underworld, fulfilling the plan, where his search means confronting his own death.
