Abstract

In this article I will discuss “objectivity” in scholar and academic world. It’s important to question the necessity of this concept to be considered as the criterion of truth of research. Investigators that subscribe impartiality, neutrality, dispassion, equanimity, tend to lose clarity regarding the locus of enunciation. They also interfere with the reader’s capacity to understand the personal and scientific motivations that underpin the research question. I reflect on how involvement, participation and explicit involvement of researchers with questions, hypotheses, postures, theoretical and methodological frameworks can achieve greater transparency and reflectivity towards objects and subjects at study. Feminism, some streams of family studies are presented as pretexts for which to think.
